With over 30 years of practice experience, Stefan Herpel, Esq. has worked on some of the most significant legal matters in the country, including arguing a well-publicized case before the U.S. Supreme Court (Bennis v. Michigan).

He has been a successful sole practitioner, as well as a partner at two highly respected law firms.  As a partner at the Detroit, Michigan firm of Miller Canfield, PLC, he specialized in commercial litigation and First Amendment law for national media clients.  At the U.S. Virgin Islands firm of Dudley Newman Feuerzeig LLP, where he currently serves as Partner, Mr. Herpel became  known as one of the top litigators in the Territory, handling complex litigation matters for a number of Fortune 500 companies who do business in the islands.

 Mr. Herpel is licensed in Michigan, California and the Virgin Islands, and works for clients in all three jurisdictions.  He has tried cases in various federal and state courts, and argued appeals in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third and Sixth Circuits, and in state appellate courts.  Mr. Herpel is experienced in all phases of civil litigation, and also represents California homeowners associations in governance, transactional and litigation matters.  

While at Michigan Law School, Mr. Herpel served as a senior editor of the Michigan Law Review.  He has published articles in the Michigan Law Review, both as a student and a practitioner.
